Dear Professional Colleagues

Greetings from Indirect Taxes Committee!

The much awaited “One Nation One Tax” Regime is all set to take over the nation with expected introduction GST from July 2017. The four bills — The Central GST Bill 2017; The Integrated GST Bill 2017; The GST (Compensation to States) Bill 2017; and The Union Territory GST Bill 2017 – were passed by Rajya Sabha on 6th April after it being earlier passed by Lok Sabha on 29th March 2017. They now await the presidential assent for being enacted as laws.

Meanwhile, as one of the foremost proponents of GST, the ICAI remains committed for smooth roll-out of GST, and a process is already underway to prepare a clear pathway for its successful implementation through a series of countrywide awareness and training programmes for members and other stakeholders. To serve further, the Indirect Taxes Committee of ICAI has recently launched its first e-newsletter on GST. This well sourced newsletter would contain latest GST Updates & news, relevant Articles on important issues under GST, GST Quiz, FAQs on selected Topics, FAQs on migration issues, details of forthcoming programmes, seminars. workshops on GST and much more.
