Manufacturing of Electric Cars

Government has already introduced new scheme for boosting manufacturing of electric & hybrid vehicles in the country for initial period of two years w.e.f. 01.04.2015, popularly known as Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India – FAME India. The detail of the vehicle segment wise breakup of amount of demand incentive can be seen in DHI website [www.dhi.nic.in => Automotive Industry => Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles India (FAME India) => Scheme for Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India – FAME India – Reg. (Gazette notification)]. As per the registrations made by various manufacturers with Department of Heavy Industry, the following companies are manufacturing electric and/or hybrid vehicles in the country.

Electrotherm (India) Limited.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

Hero Electric Vehicles Private Limited.

Toyata Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Limited.

Lohia Auto Industries.

Ampere Vehicles Pvt. Limited.

Avon Cycles Limited.

Chris Motors.

Ajanta Manufacturing Limited.
