As part of international sound practice, Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with Government of India, had placed in public domain Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS) articulated for a period of three years (2015-16 to 2017-18) on December 31, 2015. MTDS is updated on annual basis and projections rolled over for the next three years. In this regard, MTDS has been updated for the period 2016-17 to 2018-19.
Beginning this year, Government of India has decided to consolidate three publications, viz., Status Paper on Government Debt, Handbook of Statistics on Central Government Debt and Medium Term Debt Strategy into one publication. This consolidated Status Paper on Government Debt for year 2016 was released by the Government of India on October 21, 2016 (Friday).
