Steps for Migration of Chandigarh VAT dealers to GSTN portal

CIRCULAR

Subject: Migration of existing dealers to GST portal-Reg.

1. The Government of India is in the process of implementing Goods and Services Tax (GST) on pan India basis. As a precursor to the introduction of GST, provisional USER ID and Password for migration of dealers to GST portal is being communicated to the dealers who have validated their mobile numbers and e-mail id on the Excise and Taxation Department’s website etdut.gov.in.

2. The GSTN portal viz. www.gst.gov.in has been formally launched on 8th November; 2016.The migration schedule has also been uploaded on the portal which for Chandigarh dealers has been kept from 16th December, 2016 to 31st December, 2016.

3. The dealers of Union Territory, Chandigarh can enroll themselves in the GSTN portal using the provisional user id and password being communicated on their registered Mobile Numbers and the e-mail ids. The same can also be collected from the Department of Excise and Taxation, Chandigarh through their jurisdictional officers. For any clarification on the process of enrolment, they may refer to the ‘FAQ on GST migration’ and the ‘Video Tutorial’ which is available on the department website etdut.gov.in.The department’s jurisdictional officer would also be available to help you during the process. Alternatively, the help desk number 0124-4688999 or e-mail ID helpdesk@gst.gov.in of GSTN may be contacted for any clarification on enrolment.

4. The dealers, who are yet to validate their mobile numbers and e-mail ID are requested to do the same immediately, so as to receive the GSTN provisional User ID and Password for migration to GST portal. The dealers who have already received the provisional user ID and password are requested to enroll themselves in the GSTN portal i.e. www.gst.gov.in within the time frame allotted to the Union Territory, Chandigarh.

5. The Trade and Industry Associations are requested to impress upon their members to immediately validate or update their mobile numbers and e-mail ID and to enroll in the GST portal before 31st December, 2016.
